Advanced Driving Test About the Test
The Test will include driving through town,
along country lanes, dual carriageways, motorway and manoeuvring. Covering some
30 to 40 miles and lasting about 1.5 hours
The Examiner will look for a number of points
such as use of controls, observation, concentration, discipline, safety,
progress, car sympathy, road craft and general skill, including reverse parking if
practical.
Advanced driving is based on the Police method
of driving which is fully explained in the HMSO publication
"ROADCRAFT". For training purposes the IAM's own manual 'How to Pass
Your Advanced Driving Test' is also used.

Drivers which is the highest standard awarded in Britain.

manoeuvres during the Test. The Test Standard is for a good, safe, skilful
drive and the Examiner will discuss all aspects of the Test with the candidate,
pass or fail
